KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS THAT I , [. of . , an Association registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act 21 of 1860) and] having its office/ residence at . (hereinafter called the "Obligors") are held and firmly bound to the Director General of Archives, National Archives of India (an attached Office under Ministry of Culture, hereinafter called the "Government of India") in the sum of Rs. (Rupees . only) well and truly to be paid to the Government of India on demand oral without a demur for which payment, we bind ourselves and our successors and assigns by these presents.
SIGNED THIS day of in the year Two Thousand and
WHEREAS on the Obligors’ request, the Government of India has, as per National Archives of India letter No. dated (hereinafter referred to as the "Letter of Sanction" which forms an integral part of these presents and a copy thereof is annexed here to as Annexure A ) agreed to make favour of the Obligors a grant of Rs. (Rupees . only) out of which Rs. (Rupees . only) have already been received by the Obligors on condition of the Obligors executing a bond in the terms and manner contained hereinafter and which the obligors have agreed to do.
NOW the condition of the above written obligation is such that if the Obligors shall duly fulfil and comply with all the conditions mentioned in the Letter of Sanction, the above written bond or obligation shall be void and of no effect. But otherwise it shall remain in full force and virtue. If a part of the grant is left unspent after the expiry of the period within which it is required to be spent, the Obligors agree to refund the unspent balance along with interest @ 10% per annum unless it is agreed to be carried over.
THE OBLIGORS agree and undertake to surrender/ pay to the Government the monetary value of all such pecuniary or other benefits which it may receive or derive/ have received or derived through/ upon unauthorized use (such as letting out the premises for adequate or less than adequate consideration or use of the premises for any purpose other than that for which the grant was intended of the property/ building created/ acquired/ constructed largely from out of Government grant. The decision of the Director General of Archives, National Archives of India, Government of India, Janpath, New Delhi as regard the monetary value aforementioned to be surrendered/ paid to the Government will be final and binding on the Obligors.
AND THESE PRESENTS ALSO WITNESS THAT:
IN WITNESS WHEREOF these presents have been executed as under on behalf of the Obligors the day herein above written [in pursuance of the Resolution No. dated passed by the Governing Body of the Obligors, a copy whereof is annexed hereto as Annexure B] and by for and on behalf of the Government of India on the date appearing above.

Herein insert total grant approved by the Government for the project and not the amount released for a particular instalment.
Each page of Letter of Sanction is to be signed and countersigned the Secretary and the President of the grantee institution, or by the Head of the Department and the Registrar of the grantee University, or by the individual grantee, as the case may be.
